The Early Birds Breakfast Club is part of the pastoral care provision at Devonshire Hill, supporting both children and their families.
The club provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for pupils to start their day. This includes a healthy breakfast and a range of activities.
A healthy breakfast improves concentration and supports pupils’ progress. Activities and tasks supervised by our classroom staff encourage children to be independent, support their peers and develop their social skills.
The club starts promptly at 7:45am until 8:45am and the cost is £2.00 per session, which must be paid in advance. Children must attend regularly and on time for the club to run effectively. Please see the application form below for full terms and conditions.
If you are interested in a place for your child, please complete the application form below and return it to the school office. Copies of the application form are available at the school office.
The National School Breakfast Programme
In addition to the breakfast club provision above, Devonshire Hill has joined the government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.
As a NSBP School we are pleased to offer healthy bagel pieces during the soft start in class. All children have access to the bagels whether they have skipped breakfast or are or still hungry. It is proving to be a very popular and sociable morning routine, ensuring that children are settled and ready for learning.
Please note that children can have help themselves to additional portions if available, but the food offered is not be a substitute for a healthy breakfast at home.
