During our attendance themed celebration assembly, children will be awarded for 'Most Improved Attendance' and '100% Attendance'. We hope you are able to join us.
Nursery parents/carers are invited to attend our Stay and Read sessions to share a story with your child in the classroom. Stay and read sessions take place every Tuesday from 8.45am or 12:15pm.
Children in Year 6 will be visited by performers from The Riot Act. They will experience an impactful drama, 'What Went Down', which conveys the significance of road safety. By emphasising the influence of peer pressure on decision-making, it encourages young individuals to recognise and navigate the complexities of their choices and behaviors. The performance serves as a valuable tool in fostering awareness and resilience, equipping pupils with the skills needed to make informed, safe decisions in their daily lives. Children in Year 5 and 6 will be offered the opportunity to take part in Basketball sessions each Friday lunchtime. There are 30 places per year group and children will be selected to take part on rotation.
Year 5 Onyx Class will attend a special trip to the Tottenham Hale Eco Park for an immersive workshop! Our young environmentalists will dive into the world of recycling and upcycling, discovering how their actions can help protect our planet from the impact of waste. Full school uniform and a packed lunch is required for this trip. Children will return for the end of the school day.
Year 5 Onyx Class will attend a special trip to Finsbury Library for an educational workshop! During their visit children will learn about Ben Kinsella, the tragedy of his murder and the consequences of carrying a knife. The Choices and Consequences workshop is designed to empower young people to make positive choices and take decisive action to stay safe. Find out more about the Ben Kinsella Trust at www.benkinsella.org.uk/#. Full school uniform and a packed lunch is required for this trip. Children will return by the end of the school day.

All children must come to school in full school uniform for their class photos. For more information about this year's photographers please visit: https://vancols.com/school-photography/. Children who have PE or Forest School timetabled on this day should bring their PE kit or outdoor clothing to school in a separate bag to change into.
Please note the nursery will be a designated polling station on Thursday 7th May in order to accommodate the London local elections, and so will be closed on this day. All children in Reception to Year 6 are expected to come to school as usual. The nursery will re-open as usual on Friday 8th May.

Year 6 SATs exams take place during the week commencing Monday 11th May (Monday to Thursday). All Year 6 children must arrive at school by 8am on all four of these days, a healthy breakfast will be provided. All lost property will be available in the front playground and must be collected before the end of term. Any items which have not been collected on the last day of term will be disposed of or donated over the upcoming break.
Following our school spelling bee competition, the top 3 pupils will represent Devonshire Hill in an interschool Spelling Bee. Participants will compete against children from other local schools. This will be a wonderful opportunity for children to build confidence, celebrate their achievements, and take pride in representing our school.
