Our nursery offers nurturing and enriched learning opportunities for children aged 2, 3 and 4.

The nursery learning journey focuses on three prime areas of learning and development, together they form the foundation for your child’s well-being and success:

We have the highest expectations of all children as we support them to progress and develop the skills required to; express themselves, navigate their surroundings, and build positive relationships.

Nursery Staff

Our Nursery staff are dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment where eve ry child feels valued and supported. Whether offering kindness and reassurance, building the confidence needed to explore and learn, or encouraging children to express themselves and develop their social skills, our team is committed to nurturing each child’s unique potential.

Our key staff are supported by early years educators and learning assistants from a variety of professional backgrounds, together they form a diverse and knowledgeable team. They are equipped with the latest teaching and learning strategies, and have a strong understanding of child development. Additionally, our volunteers generously offer their time and enthusiasm to support our staff and children with daily routine and activities.

Nursery Learning Journey

The Nursery learning journey follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The EYFS Framework has seven key areas of learning and development:

Moonstone & Ruby Class

Our Nursery is arranged into two classes, Moonstone and Ruby. Places are available on either a full time or part time arrangement and can either be paid for in advance or, if your family is eligible, your place can be funded by a childcare funding support scheme.

Moonstone Class (2 Year Olds)

Children can begin their learning journey in Moonstone Class as soon as they turn three. However, eligible families who are applying for a funded nursery place will be offered a start date from the term that follows their child’s 2nd birthday.

Eligible families who require their child to start sooner than the 3-year-old funding scheme allows could consider applying for 2-year-old funding or paying for a nursery place until your funding is activated.

Connecting With Our Families

Family engagement is integral to a child’s learning and development. From our weekly Stay and Read sessions and Tapestry updates to our regular events and activities we welcome our families to join in and be a part of their child’s learning experience:

Tapestry

Each family has access to an account with a secure learning journal app called Tapestry. Staff, and families to exchange images and comments which record your child’s learning whether they are at home or at school. On ‘Feedback Friday’ our staff share images of children playing, learning and interacting with one another. In addition to receiving updates about the progress of the whole class, and small groups, you can also expect individual feedback for your child at least 6 times within the academic year

Parent Mail

ParentMail is the school’s main communication platform. This is where we share important messages and letters to our families. The ParentMail app is important for you to stay in touch with the latest events, activities, invitations and payments. Please ensure that your contact information is kept up to date. If you change your email, contact telephone number or address please inform us by contacting the Main Office as soon as possible.

Stay & Read Sessions

Our weekly stay and read sessions are the perfect opportunity for our families to support their child’s love of reading at school.

From Autumn 2 term we welcome you to join us every Friday during term time.

In addtion to our stay and read sessions all children are provided with a reading record so that, together, we can keep track of reading activities taking place at home.

Parent/Carer Sessions & Open Days

Our parent/carer sessions take place three times per year and all families are strongly encouraged to attend. The sessions offer an opportunity to have an informal discussion with your Class Teacher, Key Workers, and other families. Additionally we welcome you to explore your child’s learning environment and workbooks, to develop an understanding of expectations and targets. During the final session of the year we provide each family with an End of Year report, this clearly outlines your child’s achievements and targets.

Meeting Your Class Teacher

On occasion your Nursery Class Teacher may request to meet with you in a discrete arrangement to discuss and offer support around your child’s behaviour and progress. This appointment may be arranged directly between a parent/carer and the class teacher or it may be booked over the phone with one of our helpful administrators.

Events & Activities

Our regular fundraising activities and events are not only about raising funds for our school and charities. Each event offers a unique opportunity to enrich your child’s school experience through creativity, discussion and a sense of belonging. We encourage all families to join in the fun, dress up for the occasion, take part in our competitions, volunteer your time to help with decorations and organising activities. Volunteering & Donations

There’s plenty of opportunity to be a part of the school community. We welcome parent/carer volunteers and would be very happy for you to share your skills with our children, staff and families. Whether you enjoy reading, creativity, nature, exercise, cooking or any other skill that you feel you could offer, please speak with your class teacher in the first instance.

Applying for a Nursery Place

We currently provide 15 hour and 30 hour places for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old. For more information about available days and times please contact us today, a member of our friendly staff will be happy to assist by advising availability and supporting you with the application process:

  • All applications are handled directly by our school
  • Families are required to complete and return their application form to our School Office
  • Required documents include: birth certificate, parent identification
  • Our administration team will process your application
  • You will receive an invitation to attend one of our Stay and Play sessions
  • If eligable, families are also required to provide thier funding code

Support with Childcare Costs:

There are several schemes available to support eligible families with managing childcare costs. Parents/Carers can check their eligibility and apply online via the Haringey’s Help with Childcare webpage.
