RISE Events – Open Schools Fortnight
The Devonshire Hill Nursery & Primary School is proud to have been selected to host events as part of the RISE Open Education Fortnight. We are inviting educational professionals to join our workshop, ‘High Expectations and Inclusion in Class: Phonics, Writing, and Humanities’. Our goal is to showcase how a curriculum built on inclusion results in outcomes that exceed high expectations.
What to Expect
Join us in person for an engaging session all about boosting expectations in an inclusive learning environment. During the session at our school, visitors will:
- Experience Live Learning: Observe first-hand how our phonics and writing lessons are structured to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
- Discuss The Power of Transferable Skills: Discover how we bridge the gap between core literacy skills and the wider curriculum, with a specific focus on Humanities.
- Meet our ‘Talk for Writing’ Champions: Hear directly from professionals about the implementation and measurable impact of our writing approach.
- Review Evidence and Impact: Explore examples of pupils’ work which illustrate successful progress and significant pupil achievements.
