At The Devonshire Hill Nursery & Primary School we are committed to making all children feel safe and welcome from the day they enrol, helping them to develop a lifelong love of learning. Please see below for details of the school’s admissions procedures.

Open Day Visits

Our open day visits offers a fantastic opportunity for families to explore the school’s facilities, meet our friendly staff and ask questions about our enriched curriculum. Whether you are applying for a nursery or primary school place, to start now or to start Reception in September, all families are welcome. Apply for a place:

Starting Primary School in September 2025

If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 you will need to apply for a primary school place to start in September 2025. If your child attends our nursery, they will not automatically continue into our reception year; you will need to complete an application.

The deadline to apply for a primary school place is 15 January 2025.

Transfer to Devonshire Hill Primary School (R to Y6)

All children aged five years and over must be in primary education. If you are new to the area or wish to transfer your child from another school, please select the button below to complete an e-admissions form.

2 Year Old Nursery Places

Our Nursery offers the Free for 2 Year Old Provision to eligible families. Children can join the term after they turn 2. Find out more and apply for Free for 2’s using the the button below.

15 & 30 Hours Free Childcare

Our Nursery offers Free 15 hours and Free 30 hours childcare to eligible families.

You can check your eligibility and apply for funding using the the button below.
If eligible, you will receive an eligibility code which must be presented to the school for validation.

Families who are not eligible for the additional 15 hours of free childcare, have the option to ‘top up’ their free childcare by purchasing additional hours at an hourly rate. Please contact the school for further details.

3 & 4 Year Old Nursery Places

All children are entitled to a free part-time nursery place the term following their third birthday.
