Our 4 chicks are now settled into their new home in the Diversity Den, this is an exciting new learning zone which has been launched to enable the children to experience live science outside of the classroom. The chicks are now around 6 weeks old and almost look like fully grown adult hens. Each chicken has been given an ankle tag which enables us to identify them, these tags also represent the four houses so that each chicken belongs to a house, their names will be chosen later on this week. The children have been given responsibilities to assist with the care of the hens, roles include feeding and changing water, cleaning the coop and handling the chickens.
