As part of the History curriculum, children in Year 1 visited Bruce Castle museum to take part in an exciting ‘School Days’ workshop. During their visit we learned all about how school would have been for a Victorian child. The children quickly got into character in the very serious Victorian classroom, while wearing their Victorian costumes complete with flat cap and slate board. We even had a mini Headmistress! It was very interesting to compare this historical learning environment to their own modern classroom at Devonshire Hill.
