Dear Parent/Carer,
Welcome back to our families and staff, we hope that you had a wonderful May half term. Summer 2 has arrived, the final term of the academic year. We are very excited for the events and activities to come. This term we direct you to the school calendar on our website, for a list of the latest events and activities: www.devonshirehill.com/events/list/.
Below are a few reminders as we begin the new term:
Communications are now shared via the MyEd app and all messages will be sent as an ‘in app message’ via MyEd or as an email directly to your email inbox. We will no longer send text messages as this incurs a cost to the school. All parents/carers should regularly check for emails and MyEd notifications. Please contact the office for support.
Term dates are available on the school website – please remind yourself of dates prior to booking any holidays to avoid any unauthorised absences.
Punctuality and attendance are taken very seriously. The gates open at 8:45am, learning begins at 8:55am.
All absences must be reported in line with the school’s Attendance and Absence Policy. A parent/carer must contact the school before the start of the school day on each day of absence via one of the the following methods:
Telephone: 0208 808 2053 Email: attendance@devonshirehill.haringey.sch.uk MyEd>Report Absence
Our attendance webpage has useful information for our families.
Breakfast Club & After School Clubs are available to those requiring an earlier start and/or later finish time.
Places are booked directly with Dalmage Active using the links provided on the school website.
Y1 & Y2 Boosters and Y5 & Y6 Tuition will continue as usual for Summer 2. Selected children from these year groups are invited to attend Booster Club at 8am. Please ensure your child arrives in time for the start of their session.
Uniform/Forest School/PE Kit should be worn on the relevant day, this information is available on your child’s class timetable. Year 6 begin weekly swimming lessons this term and are also required to bring in their swimming kit to school: Ammolite – Thursdays and Azore – Fridays.
Y3 – Y6 require a change of Footwear for their lunchtime session on the school field. Children must change into old trainers/footwear for these sessions which take place every day.
Warmer weather requires a sensible approach to protect ourselves from the heat. Refillable water bottles, hats that protect the neck, and suncream are essential for the warmer months. Short trousers and summer dresses may be preferable, please refer to the school’s Uniform Policy for guidance.
The lunch menu is provided by our catering company Olive Dining and the Summer Menu is available on the school website.
Events and activities are available to view on our website calendar which is also linked in MyEd>Home> School Information> Calendar. Please also remember to regularly check for updates both on the calendar and in your MyEd app. Note that Year 6 events will be finalised shortly.
Parent/Carer Volunteers are welcomed warmly to support any of this term’s events. Please get in touch if you are able to help.
Open Day Tours will continue and prospective families are encouraged to get in touch to book a tour. If you have local family and friends please invite them to attend.
We are very excited for the final events of the 2024/25 academic year and look forward to updating you in our next newsletter.
Yours sincerely,
Julie D’Abreu | Headteacher
