Welcome Back – Spring 1 2026 Events

Happy New Year and welcome back. We hope you had a restful break.
There’s lots to look forward to:

- Celebration Assemblies – (Monday KS2 and Friday KS1) – commencing Monday 12 January
- Great Mental Health Day Hat Parade – hat designs due Friday 23 January
- Parents/Carers Open Afternoon – Thursday 12 February – 1.15pm school closure
- Chinese New Year activities – design competition / performances / party

Below are a few reminders as we begin the new half term:
Term dates are available on the school website – please remind yourself of dates prior to booking any holidays to avoid any unauthorised absences.
Punctuality – The gates open at 8:45am, the school day begins at 8:55am. This term we will be looking to award our most improved attenders – this includes improved punctuality and reduced lateness.
Attendance – In line with the school’s Attendance and Absence Policy, if your child is unable to attend school for any reason, a parent/carer must contact the school before the start of the school day on each day of absence. You can report your absence either by:

Breakfast Club is available from 7.45am to those requiring an earlier start time. Please book your place directly with the school via the Arbor app.
After School Club is available to those requiring a later finish time. Please book your place directly with Kidscape – www.kidscapeafterschoolclub.com/
Boosters & Tuition Clubs are by invitation for Year 1 and Year 2 at 8.30am and tuition is for all children in Year 6 from 8am. Please ensure your child arrives in time for the start of their session.
Uniform, PE Kit or Forest School clothing should be worn on the relevant day and should be suitable for the colder weather. To view your child’s class timetable visit: www.devonshirehill.com/about-us/the-school-day/
Y3 – Y6 require a change of footwear for their lunchtime session on the school field. Children must change into old trainers/footwear for these sessions which take place every day.
Colder weather means that children should be wearing warmer layers as they will continue to play outside for breaktime and lunchtime. The lunch menu is provided by our catering company Olive Dining and the Spring Menu is available on the school website: www.devonshirehill.com/parents/school-meals/
Open Day Tours are available on alternate Tuesdays and prospective families are encouraged to get in touch or to book online: www.devonshirehill.com/about-us/admissions/. If you have local family and friends please do share this information with them.
The deadline to apply for Reception 2026 is Thursday 15 January
Celebration Assembly continues to take place on Mondays (KS2) and Fridays (KS1) at 9.05am. There is an open invitation for all parents/carers are welcome to join us and help us to celebrate our achievements.
Communications are now shared via the Arbor app, all families must have access to Arbor to avoid missing out on important information. If you need support to activate your account then please visit the Office.
Parent/Carer Volunteers are very important for the support of this term’s events. Please get in touch if you are able to offer your skills. Our school can always benefit from the support of our fantastic families!
