School Procedures: Security, Drop Off and Collection

Dear Parent/Carer,

As we have lots of new families joining our school for September 2025, we are circulating the details below which outline the security measures and procedures which are in place at our school.

School Office hours
As a reminder, the school office hours are listed below. In order to meet with a member of staff, you must have a pre-arranged appointment – we are unable to facilitate ad-hoc meetings.

Monday to Friday | Morning: 8.00am – 9.30am | Afternoon: 3.05pm – 3.45pm

School Gates
The school gates are opened and secured within set times every day. These rules ensure that our school remains secure.

Reception, KS1 & KS2: Monday to Friday (Nursery follow slightly differing times)

  • Morning drop off: 8:45am – 8:55am
  • Afternoon collection: 3:05pm – 3:15pm

It is the expectation that all children arrive at school at 8:45am, the gates close promptly at 8.55am.

Children arriving from 8.56am will be marked as late which will affect their attendance record.
All children must be collected by  3.15pm unless you have booked Dalmage Active afterschool club.

For the health & safety reasons, parents/carers are not allowed to wait in the playground outside of these times, there can be no exceptions to this rule.

Collection Procedures
To minimise congestion in waiting areas and to improve the flow of people on footpaths, the following has been put in place:

Reception Children A ‘train’ barrier has been placed within the Reception dismissal area from where the children will be dismissed by their teacher one at a time.

  • To prevent distractions, teachers are unable to offer support with any queries until they have dismissed their whole class.
  • Once dismissed to their parents, children are not allowed back into the building under any circumstances.

Bikes and Scooters
We continue to encourage children to walk and wheel to school. Bikes and scooters should be secured behind the little brown fence, next to the double front gates. Children in all year groups who wheel to school should store their wheels in this area. We strongly advise that prams/buggies are taken home as this area is not sheltered. The school is not responsible for scooters/bikes left here.

The Main Office
If you are visiting the school, you are required to do so via the Main Office. Anyone visiting the school must sign in at the lobby area and wait to be escorted by a member of staff.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
Julie D’Abreu | Headteacher
