Year 6 | Residential Trip to Flatford Mill in Colchester
Dear Parent/Carer,
As you will be aware, by annual tradition, children in Year 6 have the fantastic opportunity to attend a residential trip. During their time together their learning is focused on outdoor exploration, team building, confidence and independence. In line with feedback from our families, we have been making alternative arrangements to our usual visit to Wales. This is because our families requested a more affordable trip which was closer to home and of a shorter duration.
We are pleased to inform you that we have now booked 40 places for Year 6 to attend the outdoor learning centre, Flatford Mill in Colchester. Families will be required to make a payment of £80 towards the cost of their child’s place which retails at £315 plus travel costs. The school has secured substantial funding in order to reduce the cost charged and to ensure that as many children attend as possible. It really would be fantastic to see all of our Year 6 children attending to make lifelong memories together.
Each child’s fee of £80 will cover the cost of their place, which includes activities, accommodation, hot meals and transportation for the duration of a two night and three day trip. Payment can be split into four instalments of £20, payable between October to January 2025. If you require this option please contact the school office so that this arrangement can be set up for you.
Trip Summary:

Dates: Wednesday 5th March – Friday 7th March 2025 (two nights and three days)
Travel: Coach – departing at 7.30am on Wednesday 5th March
Payment: £80 per child – payments will be requested shortly via ParentMail shop.

Kit List:
Children will be required to bring specific items to this trip, some of which they will wear to school on their forest school day. A full kit list can be accessed by following this link for a full list.

If for any reason your child will be unable to attend this trip you are required to inform the school immediately by following this link by Monday 21 October. Please note that children who are not able to attend this fantastic opportunity will still be expected to attend school for the duration of the trip.
