Year 1 Local Area Fieldwork
Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of our exciting new geography topic, ‘Local Area Fieldwork’, the children will be taking part in a short educational walk around our local community.
Location: Weir Hall Road
Date:
Emerald – Tuesday 2nd June 2026
Amethyst – Wednesday 3rd June
Travel: Walking
We will be leaving school at 1.00pm and returning to school at 1.30pm.
What happens on the trip?
On our journeys along Weir Hall Road towards Wilbury Way, the children will explore the local area. The class teacher will highlight key features to bring our current learning to life. Afterward, we will walk back to school using the same route.
Please note the following:
- Children will have lunch as usual at school before the walk.
- Children must be dressed in full school uniform, including black school shoes.
- Please ensure they are also prepared for the current weather. A waterproof jacket must be provided.
