Year 4 Trip – Hackney City Farm
Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of their science and English curriculum, Year 4 will be attending a school trip:
Location: Hackney City Farm, E2 8QA
Date: Tuesday 20 October 2026
Travel: Public transport
Crystal Class will be leaving school at 9am and returning to school 1pm. Children in Crystal class are required to bring a packed lunch for this trip.
Garnet Class will be leaving school at 12pm. They will return to school at 3.50pm. Children in Garnet Class will have an early lunch at school before leaving.
What happens on the trip?
During their visit to Hackney City Farm, Year 4 children will explore farm life and meet a variety of animals, connecting directly to next term’s science topic on animals and their focus text ‘Charlotte’s Web’.
Please note the following:
- Children in Crystal Class will need a healthy packed lunch and refillable bottle of water for this trip. As all primary school aged children are currently eligible to a free school meal, please confirm by 25.09.26 if you require the school to provide a free packed lunch: https://forms.gle/Pk4otuVydt8we53b7
- Children must be dressed in full school uniform, including black school shoes.
- Please ensure they are also prepared for the current weather. A waterproof jacket must be provided.
