World of Work Month 2026
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are excited to share the upcoming schedule for our 2026 World of Work activities which will take place across the month of March. This fantastic initiative offers an age appropriate insight into the world of work with the aim of inspiring children with an insight into future career options.
Parent/Carer Volunteers:
We are calling for parent/carer volunteers to support us on the world of work week trips. If you would be interested to join a trip then please speak with your Class Teacher at the nearest opportunity.
Please note the following:
- We are asking all families to contribute £6 per child towards the cost of the events and activities taking place across World of Work Month – this is payable via the Arbor App.
- If you require the school to provide a free packed lunch for your child’s trip, you must complete the lunch request form before 27/02/26: https://forms.gle/Pk4otuVydt8we53b7
- Children must be dressed in full school uniform, including black school shoes.
- Please ensure they are also prepared for the current weather. A waterproof jacket must be provided.
World of Work Week Schedule for Nursery to Year 6:
| Nursery Workshop Wednesday 11 March in school activity | ‘My First Job – Mini First Aider’ Nursery children will take part in a special themed first aid workshop during learning time at school. |
| Reception Trip Tuesday 17 March 9.00am – 3pm public transport packed lunch required | ‘Highways & Transport’ Trip to Transport Museum, WC2E 7BB Reception children will visit the London Transport Museum. We will explore transport history and different transport related job roles through a special workshop called ‘Is This the Way Home?’. |
| Year 1 Workshop Wednesday 11 March in school activity Year 1 Trip Amethyst Monday 16 March Emerald Tuesday 17 March 10.30am – 1.30pm walking on foot packed lunch required | ‘Emergency Services’ Trip to Tottenham Fire Station, N17 6UE Year 1 will learn about the importance of the emergency services. Children will take part in a ‘Mini First Aid’ workshop. They will also visit Tottenham fire station, see a fire engine, meet the firefighters in uniform and will get the opportunity to spray the fire hose. |
| Year 2 Workshop Tuesday 3 March in school activity Year 2 Trip Details TBC | ‘Community Jobs’ Trip details to be confirmed. Year 2 will attend a special webinar called ‘Parcel Journey’. This interactive virtual event. Children will explain how Amazon orders are packed, sorted, and delivered, and learn about how people, AI, and technology work together to make it all happen. Details of the Year 2 trip will be announced shortly. |
| Year 3 Trip Wednesday 4 March 11.00am – 4pm public transport lunch required Year 3 Workshop Wednesday 25 March in school activity | ‘Building Futures’ Trip to Guildhall, EC2V 5AE Following their recent visit to see the architecture of Tottenham Stadium children will meet the designers behind its masterplan. Architects from MAKE will visit our school for a special workshop. Children will also attend the London Careers Festival for a creative workshop themed ‘You Can Build This City’. During the workshop we will use paper and cardboard to create our very own landscape. |
| Year 4 Workshop Thursday 12 March in school activity Year 4 Trip Thursday 19 March 9.15am – 3pm public transport packed lunch required | ‘Sustainability in Fashion’ Trip to V&A Museum, SW7 2RL Year 4 children will explore sustainability in the fashion industry starting with a visit from Percival clothing. During an interactive workshop children will meet the production team, discuss fashion sustainability and environmental impact as well as career paths in the industry. Additionally, children will visit the Victoria & Albert Museum to discover the history of fashion and important figures who have shaped the industry. |
| Year 5 Workshop Tuesday 24 March in school activity Year 5 Trip Friday 27 March Onyx 10am – 11am Quartz 12.30pm – 1.30pm walking lunch at school | ‘Engineers – LEGO Machines’ Trip to Percy House, N17 0DH As part of World of Work themed activities, Year 5 will fulfil a brief set by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. In their classrooms, children will combine hands-on STEM learning with real-world problem-solving, offering a chance to reflect on the skills they’re building, just like engineers in the workplace. They will design and build a LEGO rubbish-collecting machine for the school playground. Children will have a few days to perfect their prototypes before attending Percy House to pitch their ideas and test their machines. |
| Year 6 Trip Monday 2 March 11am – 4pm public transport lunch required Year 6 Workshop Friday 6 March in school activity | ‘Discover the Possible’ Trip to Guildhall, EC2V 5AE Year 6 will attend the London Careers Festival at Guildhall in London. During this event children will learn about employability skills, meet industry professionals and explore career paths through a variety of hands-on workshops. Children will also attend an interactive virtual website all about ‘Careers in Science’. |
