Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back, we hope our families and staff had a wonderful May half term.
We are very much looking forward to the events of Summer 2 Term. For more information about class trips and details of events, please visit our full online calendar at www.devonshirehill.com/events/.
Some highlights include:
- Flatford Mill Trip
Children in Year 6 (and some Year 5) will attend a residential trip to Colchester. - Statutory Assessments
Children in Year 4 will complete their Multiplication Tables Check and children in Year 1 will complete their Phonics Screening Check. - Swimming Lessons
Children in Year 6 will attend a block of swimming lessons from early July. - Olympic Sports Week
Nursery to Year 6 will each take part in an afternoon of sports with friends and family. - ‘Help I’m Lost in Paris’ – end of year performance
Children across Reception to Year 6 have auditioned for roles in this end of year performance – cast and ticket sales will be announced shortly. - Parent Carer Open Afternoon + Family Fun Afternoon
Visit your child’s classroom, collect their belongings and have an informal discussion with their class teacher to close the academic year. Following your Open Afternoon visit please visit hosts To the Whistle who will hold an afternoon of family fun for everyone to enjoy. Any parents/carers interested in holding a stall should contact the Office. - Headteacher’s Award Celebration
Congratulations to the 60 families who are included in this year’s event. - Graduation and End of Year Party – as Year 6 begin a new chapter, we celebrate their success and reflect on their journey so far.
