Welcome back: working together to stay safe

Monday 2nd November 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the second half of autumn term. I hope that you managed to have some time to relax with family and friends during these difficult times.

As announced by the Prime Minister on 31st October, from Thursday 5th November the national restrictions will be replacing the Tier 2 local restrictions in our area. As a school we are required to stay open as the education of your child is very important. Therefore, your child is required to attend school every day if they are well enough to do so and if no-one in the household has coronavirus symptoms.

To reassure you, the school strictly follows all health and safety guidance issued to schools by the Department for Education (DfE), Haringey (LA) and Public Health England (PHE).

Please note the following:

  • The school asks that all parents/carers remind themselves and their children of the COVID-19 Home School Agreement and the one-way systems in our school including on the school playground when collecting your child(ren).
  • We ask that all adults coming onto our school grounds wear a face covering – please do not be offended if you are asked to do so by a member of staff; we know some adults are exempt but this is not obvious and therefore you may be repeatedly approached.
  • We ask that only one adult comes onto the school playground to collect children from each family to reduce numbers on site.
  • The staggered start and end times still apply, please do not arrive before your child’s end time.
  • We also ask that any queries are telephoned into the school at 020 8808 2053 or emailed to admin@devonsonshirehill.sch.uk This is to avoid adults coming into the school unnecessarily.

All the above are in place to support the education and wellbeing of your child(ren) and the school staff.

If you are concerned about anything please do not hesitate to contact the school. We are one community and we must all work together during these increasingly difficult times.

Yours sincerely,

Julie D’Abreu
Headteacher
