Tiny Forest Planting Day

Friday 22nd March 2024

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are very excited to announce that our school will begin the planting of our brand new ‘Tiny Forest’ this coming Tuesday 26th March.

Children in selected classes and those on the School Council will support the planting of around 600 trees. Parents/Carers are also  invited to join their child during the planting session for their class.
The timetable is included below, we would be very happy if you could join us and be a part of this fantastic initiative.

What to wear?
All participating children are required to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the planting session and therefore we are asking all children in the classes listed below to wear their forest school clothes on this day. This must include warm layers, a waterproof coat, a spare pair of shoes and socks; wellies and/or walking boots are preferred but old trainers are also suitable.

Children will get muddy so please also provide a  suitable change of clothing to change into after their planting session – school uniform/PE kit depending on your child’s timetable which can be accessed on the school website: www.devonshirehill.com/about-us/the-school-day/

Planting Schedule – Parents/Carers Welcome
Each planting session will last for around 30 – 45 mins and we ask that you join us for the start of the session suitably dressed as per the guidance above. Please arrive just before the start time and sign in at the Main Office.
