Dear Parents/Carers,
This half term, I will be holding parent information sessions to provide a greater understanding of the school’s RSE (Relationships, Sex and Education) programme and why this aspect of the curriculum is so important to the health, well-being and safety of your child(ren).
When is RSE taught?
RSE is always age appropriate and is taught from Nursery and throughout your child’s time at school. It is not limited to Sex Education in Years 5 and 6. Therefore, parents of children in all year groups are invited to join the sessions.
What will happen at the parent/carer information sessions?
Previously, parents who have had concerns about what and how RSE is taught, have left the meetings informed and happy (and often relieved!) about the thought, care and training that has gone into ensuring that these vital sessions are taught sensitively and in an age appropriate way.
There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions in a relaxed environment to clarify your understanding of what, why and how RSE is taught.
When are the information sessions?
There will be a session each morning at 9:00am, which will then be repeated in the afternoon at 2:30pm on the dates listed below:
Sessions will take place in the school’s Conference Centre for approximately half an hour. All families are invited to attend on any of the above dates and times.
