Dear Parents/Carers of children in Opal & Pearl Classes
Following an internal review of the outdoor play area for our Reception classes, we are making plans to redesign and upgrade the space over the coming months.
During this time, from Monday 29th April, Reception children will have lunchtime play in the front playground with the KS1 children. This is a little earlier than the usual changes to ready them for transition to Year 1. The class teachers will speak to the children over the course of this week, so they are prepared for the change of routine.
The school has a large field and March Wood (Forest School) outdoor space that the teachers will use as part of the Reception children’s outdoor learning. Please provide your child with an old pair of trainers or wellington boots that they can keep in school for this purpose. The school also has large playgrounds both at the front and back of the main building which again the teachers will use for gross motor skill development, such as riding tricycles.
