Dear Parents/Carers of Nursery Children
I am writing to remind you of the school guidelines around attendance and punctuality. Please note, although children in nursery are not yet statutory school age, once a child is registered at our school the expectation is that they will attend on time everyday, unless they are really to ill to do so. Please follow the link to the NHS website for further information on when to keep children home from school ‘Is my child to ill for school’. If your child is too ill to attend school this must be reported to the school office. You can report an absence via the Arbor app, email or by calling the school on 0208 808 2053 where you can speak with a member of the office or leave a voicemail.
National guidelines are that all children 5 and above should aim for 95% attendance. This may be difficult to achieve for nursery aged children, however we aim for attendance to be at this level as much as possible. Regular attendance is extremely important for your child’s wellbeing and progress in the Nursery. In addition to this, regular attendance and good punctuality will help to prepare children for fulltime education (Rec-Y6). Once your child is in full time education and over the age of 5 years old, poor attendance and term time leave can lead to fixed penalty notices. Non-payment of a Penalty Notice and continuous poor attendance can lead to prosecution in the Magistrates Court.

- AM session – 8:45am – 11:45am
- PM session – 12:15pm – 3:15pm
- Fulltime – 9:00am – 3:00pm (unless you pay for an additional 30 minutes each day where your timing will be 8:45am – 3:15pm)
