Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of our new library launch our school will be participating in a week of celebration called the Big Book Buzz. The whole school will be involved in a number of exciting activities from Friday 3rd November – Thursday 9th November. Please see below a calendar of events which shows you how your can get involved in this very exciting week.
| Fri 3 Nov | Grand opening of our new library with VIP guestsThe Mayor of Haringey Lester Buxton will join us along with Cllr Brabazon & Cllr Jameson Sue, as we cut the ribbon into our brand new library.Special invitation to the Head Boy, Head Girl, selected children recently awarded their Bronze Reading Award and their parents/carers ( separate invitation to follow). All children will attend a tour and induction of the new library. |
| Mon 6 Nov | Reading sessions with VIP guests from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Selected children will attend a reading session with VIP guests – special invitation to the Head Boy, Head Girl, selected children attending the Autumn 1 Football Club, Bronze Readers and their parents/carers (separate invitation to follow). |
| Tues 7 Nov | Rainbow Readers Fundraiser | £2 donation Which class can make the most vibrant rainbow of readers?! Come to school wearing a brightly coloured top with your school clothes. Remember to donate £2 – all funds raised will go towards introducing an electronic book scanner for our new school library. |
| Weds 8 Nov | Reading gives you Wings! Whole school project Each child will vibrantly decorate paper feathers. Feathers will be displayed in a communal area in the shape of wings to create a ‘photo opportunity’ style display. |
| Thurs 9 Nov | Remembrance Day Creativity Remembrance day poetry and poppy making. Please donate your bottle ends before today in support of our outdoor poppy ‘planting’. Families are welcome and encouraged to make poppies at home to contribute to our communal poppy display. |
We hope you will find an opportunity to join us in our celebrations, especially to those who will receive personal invitations to attend VIP events. This really is an incredible opportunity for us to promote and enhance our love of reading.
