Important Letter from the Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
I write to let you know that the time has come for me to retire from my post as Headteacher of The
Devonshire Hill Nursery & Primary School. I intend to leave at the end of this academic year to enjoy my
retirement with my husband and our growing family of grandchildren.
My time at Devonshire Hill began in April 2004. I will never forget the day I visited the school and I knew
‘there and then’ that I could and wanted to make a huge difference for the children at the school. Growing up and living in Tottenham connected me in a way that has always been so very personal to me.
I became the acting Headteacher in April 2009 and was then successfully appointed Headteacher in
February 2010. My journey as Headteacher during the 16 years has been one of significant challenge and
equally significant reward.
I have had the privilege of working with dedicated teams of committed professionals during my time as
Headteacher. The most wonderful thing of all is watching so many children develop and grow into
Successful Learners, this is just priceless.
I would like to express my sincere thanks for the support I have been given by you, my wonderful families
and our fantastic community. I am so extremely proud of what we have achieved together over the years.
Our most recent recognition from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, for our
achievements for our most disadvantaged pupils is an accolade for the amazing work of the whole team
at Devonshire Hill. I’m so very proud to leave the school in such a very strong National position.
I remain fully committed to ensuring a smooth and effective transition and will continue to carry out my
duties with the utmost professionalism until my retirement date.
I have experienced the very best leading such a fantastic school, it truly is a ‘hidden diamond’ and I leave
with many memories and with great confidence in the school’s future.
I wish you all the very best as Devonshire Hill moves into the next chapter of its highly Successful journey.
