Half term message and Remote Learning information

Friday 23rd October 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will be fully aware, the Government has placed London under Tier 2 restrictions as an area of high alert area where coronavirus cases are increasing. Everyone must follow the higher level of restrictions to protect the National Health Service, ourselves, our families and our community.

The School’s Remote Learning Contingency Plan is available for your information should the school be required to teach your child remotely.  There is a lot of information within the Plan and I ask that you carefully read it over the half term so you fully understand what is expected of you, your child and the school. If you need any help please email the school on admin@devonshirehill.haringey.sch.uk and a member of the team will get back to you.

To improve communication, we are changing the way that letters are shared so they can be easily translated into many languages via the school website. Simply go to the ‘Translate’ button at the bottom of the page and select the language you require. Documents such as the Plan mentioned above can also be translated using Google Translate by following these instructions. – here is an example for the Remote Learning Contingency Plan.

I want to take this opportunity to ask you all to take care and to stress the importance of following the Government’s Tier 2 guidance. We want to see you here back in school on Monday 2nd November, happy, healthy with the children ready to learn.
Have a safe and relaxing half term holiday and to all our children make sure you:

  1. Read every day
  2. Access your Google Classroom
  3. Use all the online learning that you have your log ins for
  4. Exercise every day, eat healthy food and drinks.

Yours sincerely,

Julie D’Abreu
