Dear Parents/Carers,
We are pleased to announce that deliveries from The Felix Project will restart this week. Under current circumstances, the way food is distributed will be very different – this will be reviewed and amended as required.
Food parcels will be pre-bagged and distributed to a different year group each week, starting from early years. Children will be given the parcels at the end of the day to take home. If the items are no use to you, perhaps you have neighbours who may want them.
If you have no use for the parcels and would prefer not to receive them, please inform us by email at admin@devonshirehill.haringey.sch.uk
Similarly, if you would like a weekly food parcel, please contact the school. However, please note that depending on demand we may not be able to fulfil all requests.
What is The Felix Project?
The Felix Project is a food redistribution charity. They collect food that would otherwise go to waste, but is perfectly fine to eat, and distribute it to schools and charities across London.
What is the schools programme?
The Felix Project Schools Programme is a programme through which schools across the country can contribute to reducing food waste and all the associated consequences, for example the emissions of CO2 and methane.
Just by using this food and averting it from going to landfill, we will be preventing the same amount of environmental damage as a car driving around the globe twice every year!
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Rachel Bates
Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and Pastoral Care
