Tuesday 14th July 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
On behalf of all the staff and the school Governors, we wish you a lovely summer of rest and enjoyment.
The final day of the Summer Term is Friday 17th July at 3.15pm
Please note that we do not have end of term class parties.
Final Days of Summer Term
During the last three days of the summer term, children should come to school in comfortable active wear. Children will be spending their lunchtimes on the field outside enjoying outdoor activities with their friends. Children should be prepared for the expected weather conditions which includes wearing sun protection cream, a sun hat and having refillable bottles of water.
Unfortunately this year the continued extreme heat meant that we were not able to have our annual sports day events. We will aim to schedule this much earlier in the summer term for next year.
Farewell to Year 6
To all our Year 6 Children who are going to be embarking on their next chapter in the ‘great book of lifelong learning’… I wish you all well as you transition to secondary school. I’m sure you will carry with you very fond memories of your time at Devonshire Hill and I am confident that you will go on to be Successful Learners in Year 7 and beyond.
Nursery and Reception- September 2026
Children in Nursery and Reception will have a staggered start back and each family will have now been notified of their start date for their child, if in doubt contact the school office.
September 2nd, 3rd and 4th
The school will be closed to all families on 2nd, 3rd and 4th September to accommodate INSET days for statutory staff training.

We will update our website across the summer holidays with any important information, so please make sure you regularly check at www.devonshirehill.com.
The New Academic Year
Monday 7th September for the start of the new academic year.
And finally from me…
I wish you all the very best for the future and a fantastic start to the new term in September. I know you will support Ms Georgiades wholeheartedly as she leads our amazing school into the next chapter of success. Equally, I know you will warmly welcome Ms Robertson to our school as our deputy.
I’m delighted that the school has had a fantastic Ofsted Inspection and that I can leave the school in such a strong position.
I hope you all have a lovely summer and I wish you all happiness and good health.
Sent with ‘kindness’
Yours sincerely,
Julie D’Abreu | Headteacher
