Dear Parent/Carer,
We are delighted to announce that our school is taking part in an Autumn term clothing collection with Happy School Bag Fundraising Project.
Children will bring home a collection bag before half term, additional bags can be collected from the shelf in the Main entrance. To take part you simply need to fill the bag with unwanted but clean and reusable clothing, paired shoes and fashion accessories.
Please note that school uniform should be donated separately for reuse within the Devonshire Hill community.
Please drop all clothing donation bags into our new Happy School Bag drop off point at the Main Office no later than Friday 22 November.
Donations made after this date will be turned away as we will have no suitable place to store items.
Please see the below list of items which are accepted by this collection:
Accepted items:
✔️ Good quality clean adults’/children’s clothing
✔️ Paired Shoes
✔️ Accessories including: handbags, belts, hats, jewellery etc
Items not accepted:
❌ School Uniform
(please instead donate good quality, clean items to the Main Office for the pre-loved rail)
❌ Dirty, damaged, wet clothing and items unsuitable for reuse.
❌ Toys, books, DVDs
❌ Duvets, pillows, household linen, carpets, blankets, curtains
❌ Bric-a-brac
This scheme is designed to help schools raise needed funds, as well as helping the environment by keeping textiles away from landfills. By taking part in this scheme you will also help to reduce the amount of reusable textiles from going to landfill and give the clothing a new lease of life at second hand markets. Remember, the more you fill up the bag the more funds the school can raise.
