Dear Parents/Carers,
Following my letter on Monday about NEU strike action, I’m sorry to inform you that The Devonshire Hill Nursery & Primary School will be closed on Wednesday 1st February. We are asking you not to send your child into school on this day.
We have not taken this decision lightly. We remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils, and feel that we would be unable to provide this with the staff we have available.
Teachers will share links to remote learning that can be accessed at home via the Oak Academy or other relevant learning platforms.
We will not be open for Breakfast or After School clubs. Any payments for these sessions or paid Nursery placements will be refunded or costs deducted from your next invoice.
I’m sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child at short notice, and that they will experience disruption to their education and I understand that this situation may be frustrating for you.
We are working closely with our union representatives to keep up to date with the situation, and I will inform you as soon as possible if arrangements change further. We will further assess the schools situation for the future planned strike dates (2nd, 15th and 16th March) and will write and share plans with as much notice as possible.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours sincerely
Julie D’Abreu
Headteacher
