Dear Parents of children in Year 6
The Year 6 teachers have planned some end of term events with the children and you have recently received information on this. Each year the Year 6 teachers dedicate a great deal of their time to create fabulous end of term memories for the children. This year we have included a trip to Margate, which I know they will thoroughly enjoy. The teachers have also been tirelessly working with the children on their end of school production and if restrictions allow you may be able to actually come into school as an audience to watch.
Although some parents are disappointed that we have decided this year not to have ‘a Prom’, the children will have ‘Fun on the Field’ followed by a ‘Disco’ on 22nd July until 5:30pm and this decision has been made with the children. We are also mindful that some parents have found the last 18 months very difficult financially and having to buy outfits for a Prom, seems untimely and unnecessary. So on this day the children are invited to wear their own clothing and can come to school for the day in their outfit of choice and this is up to them to decide.
The children will have a lovely day with their friends. I’m sure the children will have plenty of opportunities, as they grow up, to attend Proms through secondary school and when at University!
