Egg-citing Science!

Fluffy yellow chicks hatch their way into our classrooms.

This Monday 26th September a very special delivery of 10 eggs arrived at the school gates. These eggs are not made of chocolate unlike the giant chocolate egg which we received earlier in the summer, they are also much smaller. These eggs are living chicken eggs and arrived in an incubator. By Wednesday morning we were welcomed into school by the cheeping of the first 3 fluffy chicks to hatch, the rest followed soon after! We will be keeping 4 female chicks who will eventually move into our new Diversity Den (an outdoor Science classroom). Members of our Early Birds Breakfast Club and SAS (Serious About Science) Club will be learning how to care for our latest additions. It will be a few months before our chickens start laying any eggs but we are very excited to get cooking when they do!
