World Work Week

Take a look at our Work Week highlights.

During World of Work Week all year groups from Nursery to Year 6 took part in a number of activities, talks and visits. The whole week was aimed at raising aspirations about the opportunities which are available in the working world, this was achieved through first hand experience of working environments, live projects and discussions with a variety of professionals.ย The children were able to learn about the value of work, how and why peopleย earn and save money as well asย developing a sense of responsibility, co-operation and problem solving skills.

In order to share the success of their fashion and design project year 5 presented a fashion show to the whole school. The feedback from the judge panel of professional fashion designers was incredible:

โ€œHonestly, I don’t think I’ll ever get over this afternoon!ย It was heart warming to see the children having so much fun while embracing themselves and being so freely expressive. I feel it was a prime example of the value creative exercises can provide for children and how important it can be for them to explore the different aspects involved in the process of designing. Well done to everyone involved in organising the show โ€“ it was truly priceless!โ€

What an incredible week both the children and the staff have had. Don’t take our word for it, you can have a read of the Work Week Report for yourself.
